Kavanaugh Not Worthy

The ongoing hearing and “investigation” concerning Judge Kavanagh’s appointment to the U.S Supreme Court is a farce. If he is or isn’t “Guilty” of the sexual allegations have nothing, whatsoever, to do with his qualifications for the job.

I do not care, one way or another, about whatever nasty things he did or did not do over 30 years ago.  People of his age are seldom, if ever, the same person they were in high school.

I have my doubts to his qualifications for the job, none of which are based on anything he did so long ago.  My doubts have to do with his actions while working on the George W Bush’s White House lagal team.

He is put forward as a strict “Constitutionalist”, that is, one who thinks the rules and laws of the Republic should be based on the Constitution as written.  I am at sea, wondering how this stance can be reconciled with his actions while working for President Bush.

He helped write the “Patriot Act”, ( To learn the purposes behind any Congressional Act simply read the act’s name and reverse the meaning), this act is on par with some of the most hideous anti-American acts in our nation’s history.

This act has given the Federal government freedom to do things past administrations could only wish for.  Spying on a citizen without cause, without a valid warrent, with only the permissin of a secret court. A “secret” court is not acountalble to the people and mostly’ rubber stamps any warrent request that comes before it.

Kavanaugh is/was in favor of all these extra-legal exercises of governmental powers.  Not only in favor but, likely, the author of many of the provisions of the act.

Any man with so little regard to the Constitution should have no place on the Supreme Court.

My 5th Great Grandfather, Jacob Prickett, 1722 – 1797

Jacob Prickett Sr

Jacob PRICKETT Sr. (1722 – 1797) – 5th great-grandfather
Josiah PRICKETT Sr (1746 – 1808) – son of Jacob PRICKETT Sr.
John PRITCHETT (1784 – 1845) – son of Josiah PRICKETT Sr
Prudence PRITCHETT (1813 – 1869) – daughter of John PRITCHETT
Emory HOUCK (1844 – 1913) – son of Prudence PRITCHETT
Ethel Pearl HOUCK (1891 – 1977) – daughter of Emory HOUCK
Vickers James HAZLETT (1914 – 2003) – son of Ethel Pearl HOUCK
Charles R HAZLETT – (1942 – TBA) son of Vickers James HAZLETT

Here is the best story line I have found concerning the life of Jacob:

Jacob Prickett

Here is a reconstructed version of Jacob’s fort. It was built to provide refuge against Indian raid. I cannot be certain and I am still looking for verification, but I am of the opinion that George Washington probably stayed at this fort on his return from “Fort Necessity”. This reconstructed fort is a West Virginia State Park.
