Winner !
By Charlie | June 29, 2008
I recently entered a monthly cartoon caption contest sponsored by the Columbus Dispatch little knowing I would actually win!
Here is my entry as it appeared in the newspaper. For winning I get an 8×10 copy of the cartoon and the kudos of millions of adoring fans……no free dinner, not even a McDonald’s coupon.

Just a Scrap of Paper ?
By Charlie | February 27, 2008
"The constitution be damned" is what almost every government agency in these United States seems to think. Now we have an extra-Constitutional agreement between The U.S. and Canada which will allow either country’s armed forces to enter the other nation to "help" with domestic emergencies.
I can almost envision is now, the people of the U.S. finally arise in protest over the government’s misfeasance and malfeasance and rise in protest and the Canadian armed forced cross the border to arrest, and possible fire upon Americans.
Of course, it could be the other way around, the Canadians might finally tire of censorship and "universal" health care and rise up and our 82nd Airbourne troops cross the border to put them down.
Nothing in our laws or in the Constitution allows such agreements without the approval of the U.S. Congress.

Stunned
By Charlie | February 19, 2008
I was stunned yesterday morning to hear the president actually say that the cause of the economic problems in this nation is the building of too many houses. I sat for several minutes digesting what he said, then realized either the man is a complete economic illiterate or he wants the US people to think that spending $10 billion a month on a war is nothing compared to building all those terrible houses.
How many sane people would even consider that building wealth is bad for an economy and destroying wealth is good?
